{"id":1124,"date":"2017-10-31T11:06:56","date_gmt":"2017-10-31T11:06:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stcleaner.com\/blog\/?p=1124"},"modified":"2017-10-31T11:06:56","modified_gmt":"2017-10-31T11:06:56","slug":"the-real-utility-of-task-manager-in-windows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stcleaner.com\/blog\/2017\/10\/31\/the-real-utility-of-task-manager-in-windows\/","title":{"rendered":"The Real Utility of Task Manager in Windows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you have been part of the <\/span><b>Windows<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> ecosystem for some time, the <\/span><b>Task Manager<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> most definitely would be something you are most familiar with.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Although many users know of its existence, only a few are well versed in the benefits it offers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The interface of the <\/span><b>Task Manager<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in <\/span><b>Windows 10<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is quite similar to its peer in <\/span><b>Windows 8<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The main purpose of the <\/span><b>Task Manager<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is to make it easier for you to take control of applications running on the computer and to diagnose and optimise system performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Most users go for the method of hitting the <\/span><b>Ctrl<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> + <\/span><b>Alt<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> + <\/span><b>Delete<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> keys combination on their keyboard and then selecting <\/span><b>Task Manager<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> from the next screen to launch the <\/span><b>Task Manager<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. However, a more quick and direct method to get there is to press the <\/span><b>Ctrl<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> + <\/span><b>Shift<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> + <\/span><b>Esc<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> keys. Other methods include launching it from the search bar or right-clicking on an empty space on the <\/span><b>Windows<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> taskbar and selecting <\/span><b>Task Manager<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> from the popup menu. The <\/span><b>Task Manager<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> window contains several tabs to navigate to different areas of functionality. The resources being utilized by each process are shown and can be sorted in ascending or descending order by clicking on the labels at the top of the respective column. The quantum of each resource being tied up by the concerning entity (highlighted in yellow) would increase depending on the usage. It would turn to orange and then red if resource utilization is high. Right-clicking on a single process opens a popup menu which gives you the ability to expand the process, and most importantly to end the process by selecting <\/span><b>End task<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. You can also perform the latter by selecting a process and clicking <\/span><b>End task<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on the bottom right corner of the screen. Easy to read graphs and values help the user to quickly comprehend the overall situation. If you require specific information on each component, this can be accomplished easily by clicking the respective label on the left. The resultant section will also provide detailed info on the section you just selected. The right-click menu will throw up a few more options, mainly concerned with changing the view. The usage shown in this tab is from the date mentioned at the top. This can be reset by clicking on <\/span><b>Delete usage history<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
