If it isn\u2019t available, manually type the following string in the file:<\/span><\/p>\n

storage.size=*<\/span>desired amount of megabytes*<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Example: <\/span>storage.size=1280<\/b><\/p>\n

Save the file and restart <\/span>Spotify<\/b>. The cache content must have been cleaned out now.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deny Write Permission to Spotify<\/b><\/h2>\n

You can also opt to deny the write permission to <\/span>Spotify<\/b>. This will result in restricting it from adding more cache to the software. The <\/span>Spotify<\/b> cache folder is located at: <\/span>
\n<\/span>C:\\Users\\%userprofile%\\AppData\\Local\\Spotify\\Data\\<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Navigate to the above-mentioned location, right-click the <\/span>Data<\/b> folder and select <\/span>Properties<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Click the <\/span>Security<\/b> tab.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Now select <\/span>Edit.<\/b><\/li>\n
  4. In the next window, select your username and then select the <\/span>Deny<\/b> checkbox for <\/span>Write<\/b>. Follow this instruction exactly as described or you could end up severely harming <\/span>Spotify<\/b>\u2019s working.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Click <\/span>OK<\/b> | <\/span>OK<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Another way to go about this issue is to locate the file named as <\/span>local-files.bnk<\/b>. This file is located at:<\/span>

      Now search for the folder that is named similar to <\/span>123456-user<\/b>. The actual folder name will contain a sequence of numbers (a different one most probably) followed by your username. Open that folder, locate <\/span>local-files.bnk<\/b> inside it and delete it.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Opt for Auto-update to reduce Cache Size<\/b><\/h2>\n

      Spotify<\/b> doesn\u2019t updates itself automatically, which tremendously increases its cache size. If you want to opt for auto-update, simply delete the file named <\/span>local-files-desktop.spa<\/b>, which can be found at:<\/span><\/p>\n
