Downloading material itself from the <\/span><b>Internet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is not the problem, the problem is that even after the downloaded material has served its purpose, we forget to delete it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This proves to be an unnecessary burden on the computer\u2019s hard drive. However, once it is enabled, it will automatically delete the temporary files created by your web browser and other apps. Files that are lying in the <\/span><b>Recycle Bin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for more than <\/span><b>30 days<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are also removed automatically. You can even tweak this feature so that files are permanently deleted once they\u2019ve completed <\/span><b>24 hours<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of sitting in the <\/span><b>Recycle Bin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In situations where you are critically running low on storage space, <\/span><b>Storage Sense<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will even offer you the option to delete the previous version of <\/span><b>Windows 10<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to instantly clear up some storage space.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following lines provide a step by step guideline on how to enable Storage Sense in <\/span><b>Windows 10<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 1<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first step is to navigate to storage settings. You can do this by going to <\/span><b>Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and selecting <\/span><b>System<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> | <\/span><b>Storage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Another option is to press <\/span><b>Windows Key<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> + <\/span><b>Q<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which will lead you to <\/span><b>Cortana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (your personal digital assistant provided by <\/span><b>Windows<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and ask it to open up <\/span><b>Storage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> settings for you.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 2<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you have reached <\/span><b>Storage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> settings the next step is to enable <\/span><b>Storage Sense<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. By default, <\/span><b>Storage Sense<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is disabled in <\/span><b>Windows 10<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which means you will have to enable it yourself.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 3<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you enable <\/span><b>Storage Sense<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, only certain features will be activated such as deleting temporary files and clearing the <\/span><b>Recycle Bin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The rest of the features, you will have to activate yourself. You can do this by clicking on the link that says <\/span><b>Change how we free up space automatically<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This will lead you to the configurations page. Here you are given the option to delete the files in the <\/span><b>Downloads<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> folder that have not been changed for <\/span><b>30 days<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This proves to be a very handy feature since most of the times we download material and later forget to delete it. This way the material will automatically get cleaned up after it has been present in the <\/span><b>Downloads<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> folder for a certain period of time.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 4<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whenever a new <\/span><b>Windows<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> update is installed on a computer system, certain temporary files from the older versions continue to sit on your computer\u2019s hard disk. This is done so that you can return to the older version of <\/span><b>Windows<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> whenever you want to. These temporary files can sometimes amount up to <\/span><b>GB<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s of data. If you wish you can remove these temporary files belonging to older versions of <\/span><b>Windows<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by checking the box that says <\/span><b>Delete previous versions of Windows<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and clicking\u00a0the <\/span><b>Clean Now<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One should keep in mind that <\/span><b>Storage Sense<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is only relevant for junk files, however, if you are looking to clean up more space, then the following information might come in handy. The most important habit that you should instill in yourself if you want the storage space to remain in control is that you should delete unused apps from time to time. This can be done by visiting the <\/span><b>Apps and Features<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> page.
