Skyrim is an action-based video game published by Bethesda Softworks. In the Elder Scrolls series, it is the fifth installment, which is available for PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox 360. Skyrim is a huge success but it has also encountered several technical glitches that have confused gamers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of these problems include extreme lagging in PCs. Let us discuss how you can solve the problem if you are a Skyrim player.<\/span><\/p>\n

Solution 1<\/b><\/p>\n

The first solution requires visiting the Documents folder. Once you have opened this folder, you will spot the My Games folder. Double-click this folder and you will come across various folders including Skyrim. Open the Skyrim folder and then click the SkyrimPrefs file.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once this file has been opened, use the Control + F shortcut keys combination to enable the search bar. Next, type Gamepad in the search bar and click Find Next. You will find <\/span>GamepadEnable=1<\/b><\/span>. Replace 1 with 0 and then click the Find Next button twice until you come across <\/span>GamepadRumble=1<\/b><\/span>. Again, change the 1 it to 0. Now save the settings, and click OK. Hopefully, the lagging issue will be resolved, if not, then move ahead to the next solution.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second solution involves changing the power settings. To do this, visit the Control Panel and navigate to the Power Options section. Now click Create a power plan on the extreme left.<\/span><\/p>\n

A new window will now pop-up, offering several power plans.<\/span><\/p>\n

Select High performance, provide a name to your plan and click Next.<\/span><\/p>\n

The third solution to fix Skyrim lags requires visiting the Documents folder. Now open the My Games and you shall see the Skyrim folder. Open the Skyrim folder and then double-click the SkyrimPrefs.ini file. Now add up <\/span>iPresentInterval=0<\/b><\/span> to the bottom of the display section.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next, make use of the Crimson\u2019s Frame Target Control to limit the game to 60. In most cases, this will solve the lag issue in Skyrim as most of the time the lag issue is due to the ultra-frames required.<\/span><\/p>\n
