Windows 10 continues to win hearts and minds of users, no matter which version of it they\u2019re using.\u00a0<\/span>However, it has numerous problems attached to it which came to the fore since it got rolled out. Some of them were fixed within the first few days, but other\u00a0continue to linger on till now.\u00a0Error 0x80048830\u00a0<\/b>is one such error. It needs special treatment as well.<\/p>\n

First, your computer must be\u00a0free from Registry errors. It should be cleaned and all computer services should be optimized to fix issues like this. Download a registry cleaner and scan your computer to perform important scans.<\/span>

Windows<\/strong> has its own email client, known as <\/span>Windows 10 Mail,<\/b> which is basically the same as <\/span>Thunderbird<\/b> developed by <\/span>Mozilla Foundation<\/b>. This article talks about <\/span>Error 0x80048830<\/b> that doesn\u2019t let the email client load messages from the server. The error shows as per the following screenshot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Solutions<\/b><\/h3>\n

Solutions 1: Allow SVCHOST.EXE in Windows Firewall<\/b><\/h3>\n

This is one of best solutions for those who either don\u2019t intend to update Windows or use a slow\/ limited Internet connection. The fix is quite straightforward. Let\u2019s jump right into the solution then. <\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Open the <\/span>start<\/b> menu.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Search for Firewall and click on Windows Firewall with Advanced Security<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Locate Inbound rules<\/b> and select it.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Click on New Rule<\/b> on the right-hand side panel under the <\/span>Actions<\/b> group.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Select Programs<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Type c:\\Windows\\system32\\svchost.exe<\/b> in the textbox under <\/span>This program path<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Click Yes <\/b>when you receive a warning about svchost. Even though the warning message says the rules may not work with svchost, they will actually work.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Click on Allow the connection<\/b> and proceed ahead.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Select all the checkboxes.<\/li>\n
  10. Add a meaningful name which will show up in the list of rules later on in Windows Firewall<\/strong>.

  12. Click again on New Rule<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n

  14. Select Specific local ports<\/b> and enter the following ports in the textbox: \u00a06412,993,56161,56161,56164

  16. Select all the checkboxes in the following window.

    Solution 2: Update Windows to the Latest Version<\/b><\/h3>\n

    Windows 10 build 10240<\/b>, also known as the first public version of <\/span>Windows 10<\/b> was released on July 29, 2015. Since its first release, Microsoft has released numerous small patches to fix minor issues that arose in Windows 10. But in November, Microsoft released a big patch which can also be seen as a service park in terms of contents and its build number was 10586. Updating <\/span>Windows 10 build 10240<\/b> to <\/span>10586<\/b> fixes not just this particular problem we\u2019re talking about, it also helps resolve a lot of other problems associated with Windows 10.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Click on the <\/span>start<\/b> button.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Search for Update settings<\/b> and open it from the search result.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Click on Advanced Options<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Select the checkbox which says Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
    5. Click on the back arrow to go back.<\/li>\n
    6. Click on Check for updates<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
    7. The update request will be sent to Microsoft servers and then it will scan the Microsoft\u2019s update repository. If any new update is available, it will be downloaded to the user\u2019s computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
