Junk Files<\/h3>\n

Junk files are an unnecessary burden\u00a0on the computer system and they\u00a0eat up valuable storage space. These files continue to occupy storage space that is very dearly needed at times, and often result in a slow and\/ or full of lags computer. So sorting them out nicely is a must!<\/p>\n

Local Temporary Files<\/b><\/h3>\n

Local temporary files? Yes, they reside in your system. Just press Windows Key + R (keyboard shortcuts). Now type these (with appropriate changes):<\/span><\/p>\n

  • C:\\Users\\Default\\AppData\\Local\\Temp<\/span><\/li>\n
  • C:\\Users\\USER_NAME\\AppData\\Local\\Temp<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Now you\u2019ve a folder (aka local temporary files). Open it. And delete all its contents (files and subfolders). <\/span><\/p>\n

    Temporary Windows Files<\/b><\/h3>\n

    Do you know that whenever you install a new program, the setup you run extracts some files and home in on your Windows temporary location. Clean them up. Here\u2019s how: Just type these:<\/span><\/p>\n

    • C:\\Windows\\Temp<\/span><\/li>\n
    • C:\\Windows\\winsxs\\Temp<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      And delete. <\/span><\/p>\n

      Now Your Internet-Downloaded Files<\/b><\/h3>\n

      Finding Internet-downloaded files is easy. These two folders contain all files you downloaded from the Internet:<\/span><\/p>\n

      • C:\\Windows\\Downloaded Program Files<\/span><\/li>\n
      • C:\\Windows\\SoftwareDistribution\\Download<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Delete them as well. <\/span><\/p>\n

        Turn Windows Features Off<\/b><\/h3>\n

        Why? Because when you install your Windows you install plenty of features as well. Want to turn them off? Here\u2019s how: Type <\/span>\u201cTurn Windows features on or off\u201d<\/b> in the <\/span>Search Box.<\/b> Uncheck those you\u2019d like to remove from <\/span>Windows Features <\/span><\/i>dialog box. Click OK. <\/span><\/p>\n

        Another Way is to Uninstall Programs:<\/b><\/h3>\n

        Remove the applications you no longer use. In the Start Screen, type <\/span>> All Apps > <Program_Name> Folder<\/b>. You\u2019ll find <\/span>\u201cUninstall <Program_Name>\u201d<\/b> shortcut. Did not find it? Okay, type \u201cAdd or Remove Programs\u201d in the Start. It loads the list of all apps in the <\/span>System <\/i><\/b>page of the <\/span>Settings<\/i><\/b>.<\/b><\/p>\n

        Clean Files using Inetcpl.cpl<\/b><\/h3>\n

        It\u2019s easy. Open up the Internet Properties by using \u201cinetcpl.cpl\u201d command. Here you can delete all temporary Internet files, browser cache by clicking \u201cDelete\u201d button in the default tab.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
