The error occurs during <\/span><b>Kernel Mode<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Operations. It occurs due to outdated drivers, bad startup items, file system errors or incorrect system settings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The emergence of a wide variety of errors in the computer can also be traced to a troublesome <strong>Windows Registry<\/strong>. It is one of those critical areas of the operating system, on which the entire computer&#8217;s performance hinges upon. Regularly sorting and defragging the <strong>Registry<\/strong> can greatly reduce the chances of such out of the blue errors troubling you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Uninstall Problematic Drivers<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This error occurs when hardware devices connected to your computer don\u2019t work properly, especially due to incomplete driver installation or compatibility issues. <\/span><b>Device Manager<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has a feature which detects all malfunctioning devices. Such devices are indicated with a yellow colored exclamation mark. Here\u2019s how to activate that feature and remove non-functioning device drivers.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Press <\/span><b>Windows Key<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> + <\/span><b>X<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; choose <\/span><b>Device Manager<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Expand the top node on the left pane.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Click the <\/span><b>View<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab and choose <\/span><b>Show hidden devices<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Uninstall every single device with a yellow color exclamation mark by (<\/span><b>Right-click<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &gt; <\/span><b>Uninstall<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> After removing all such malfunctioning devices, restart the computer. Press <\/span><b>Windows Key<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> + <\/span><b>X<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; choose <\/span><b>Shut down or sign out<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> | <\/span><b>Restart<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><b>Perform Diagnostic Startup<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diagnose problems with startup programs or drivers using the <\/span><b>System Configuration<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> utility. Run the command in an elevated <\/span><b>Command Prompt<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Type <\/span><b>CMD<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the <\/span><b>Search<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> box on your Taskbar.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Right click <\/span><b>CMD<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Search Results and choose <\/span><b>Run as administrator<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> option from the Context Menu.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Execute the following command:<br \/>\n<\/span><b><b>chkdsk \/F \/R<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stcleaner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/image013.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-371\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stcleaner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/image013-300x89.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"89\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stcleaner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/image013-300x89.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.stcleaner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/image013.jpg 460w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/b><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you\u2019re asked to reboot, press <\/span><b>Y<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> key and press <\/span><b>Enter<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Now Command Prompt will start scanning for and repair any disk drive issues.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Turn On Legacy Advanced Boot Menu<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your computer\u2019s boot menu policy appears to be corrupted. Use the <\/span><b>BCDEDIT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> command during the troubleshooting process to fix the problem.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Restart your computer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Press <\/span><b>F2<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><b>Delete<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> key repeatedly until <\/span><b>BIOS Configuration<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> screen is displayed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Set the <\/span><b>First Boot Device <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as your <\/span><b>DVD ROM Drive and Second Boot Device<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as <\/span><b>Hard Disk<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Insert Windows installation disc in your DVD Drive.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Go to <\/span><b>Exit <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">menu in the BIOS Configuration screen, select <\/span><b>Save changes and exit<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Your computer will restart. Press <\/span><b>Enter<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when you\u2019re prompted to press any key.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Click <\/span><b>Next<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the welcome page and then click <\/span><b>Repair your computer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Click <\/span><b>Troubleshoot<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon on the subsequent page.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Click <\/span><b>Advanced Options<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> | <\/span><b>Command Prompt<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Execute the following command:<br \/>\n<\/span><b><b>BCDEDIT \/SET {DEFAULT} BOOTMENUPOLICY LEGACY<\/b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After successful execution, type <\/span><b>EXIT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and press <\/span><b>Enter<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Exit the installer wizard and boot Windows in normal mode.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Windows 10 periodically reboots on its own and then pops up a very critical KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED system error.
