Solution 1: Disable The Fast Startup<\/b><\/h3>\n

Fast startup is a new feature introduced with <\/span>Windows 10<\/b> to reduce the time required to bootup the computer. If your system\u2019s hardware is not compatible with Windows 10, enabling this feature will cause a lot of negative side effects. Therefore it\u2019s better to turn it off.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Click the <\/span>start<\/b> button to bring up the start menu.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Search for <\/span>Power Options<\/b>. Open it from the <\/span>Search Results<\/b>.

    Solution 2: Turn Off Hibernation<\/b><\/h3>\n

    Hibernation was another feature introduced to minimize the time required to get the user onto the desktop. Like <\/span>Fast Startup<\/b> (previous solution), if the hardware isn\u2019t compatible with hibernation, it will lead to many side effects. Therefore, it better be turned off.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Click on the <\/span>start<\/b> button to open the start menu.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Search for <\/span>Command Prompt<\/b>.

      Even though it\u2019s not exactly clear how rolling back to one of the previous versions of <\/span>Intel Management Engine Consumer Driver<\/b> solves this problem, many users have reported this reversal of helping them fix the problems related to the shutdown functionality of Windows 10.<\/span><\/p>\n

      1. Open the <\/span>start<\/b> menu.<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Search for <\/span>Device Manager<\/b>. Click on it to open it.

If it is grayed out as the following screenshot shows, download the latest <\/span>Intel Management Engine<\/b><\/a> driver, and install it, instead of rolling back to the previous version.
