The Problem of Broken Startup Links<\/strong><\/h2>\n

When you uninstall an application program, sometimes it leaves behind startup items with broken references to uninstalled application files. These links to deleted executable files show an error message. It is very easy to get rid of such unwanted messages.   2. Open the <\/span>MsConfig<\/b> tool from the <\/span>Search Results<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Click the <\/span>General <\/b>tab.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Select the option named <\/span>Diagnostic startup<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Click <\/span>Apply<\/b>, and then <\/span>OK<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. You\u2019ll be prompted for a system reboot; confirm it.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Alternatively, change individual startup items status using <\/span>Task Manager<\/span><\/i> as shown below. \u00a0However, this can be a geeky task as you must know which items to alter and which ones to keep aside. It\u2019s smart to have essential startup items turned on such as your Antivirus, Firewall security program, and other startup items that are part of the Windows operating system. Keeping non-essential nonessential startups can only waste system resources.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Press <\/span>Windows Key <\/b>+ <\/span>X<\/b>; choose <\/span>Task Manager<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Click the <\/span>More details <\/b>icon.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Click the <\/span>Startup <\/b>tab.<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Rearrange the startup items by their current status. To do so, click the <\/span>Startup <\/b>column head.<\/span><\/li>\n
    5. Select an item you wish to turn off; click the <\/span>Disable <\/b>button.<\/span><\/li>\n
    6. Exit the window.<\/span><\/li>\n
