Errors are inevitable and they can\u2019t be avoided. An error is most likely caused by either a bug with one of the installed applications, some sort of corruption in system Registry entries or perhaps missing data files. On the other hand it may turn out to be a hardware incompatibility issue as well. The solution may depend on underlying issues.<\/span><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"repair-download_home\">\n<div class=\"download_home_left\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<h3><b style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Software Issues<\/b><\/h3>\n<h4><b>System File Checker<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This tool scans all protected Operating System files, including shared system DLLs. Errors caused due to missing DLL files will be easily fixed. Some exceptions exist though. Notable ones include software applications installed through setups (example: installations from DVD ROM or USB Drives), Windows Store apps etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Fire up Command Prompt with administrative privileges. (Use Windows Key + X &gt; Select the relevant option)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Here are some alternatives:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To identify problems with protected OS components, use \u201cSFC \/ScanNow\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To identify problems with protected OS components on a one-off basis at the next system bootup, use \u201cSFC \/ScanOnce\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To identify problems with protected OS components once at every system bootup, use \u201cSFC \/ScanBoot\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To return scan to factory configurations, use \u201cSFC \/Revert\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To purge cache contents, use \u201cSFC \/PURGECACHE\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To change cache size, use \u201cSFC \/CACHESIZE=x\u201d (x indicates the new cache size; which should be a numeric value)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Restore System Settings<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a method to undo recent system changes that might have affected how your operating system and applications behave. In some cases, either one or both of these (operating system and applications) may behave unexpectedly after changes to Registry entries or special directories containing your application data files, typically stored in C:\\Users\\[Your_User_Name]\\AppData\\Local.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Type and open \u201cView advanced system settings\u201d using the Search feature of your Start Screen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> You may find the \u201cSystem Restore\u201d button under System Protection tab.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Click Next on the Welcome page of the newly opened tool.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Do you find any system generated restore points? If yes, choose the restore point created prior to the installation of problematic application.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Click the \u201cScan for affected programs\u201d button to figure out if the application you\u2019re trying to diagnose is listed. If you aren\u2019t experiencing issues with any particular app, and rather the operating system is causing issues, there is no need to check out the affected apps list.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Click Next.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Follow the on-screen instructions. A system reboot is required at the end.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><b>Boot in Diagnostic Startup<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the Diagnostic Startup mode, a predefined set of system startup components and services are loaded. Problematic issues over here include a missing shortcut to an executable file\/ module, an incompatible driver, a faulty application software etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To use the Diagnostic Startup Mode, type \u201cMSCONFIG\u201d in the Run dialog (Windows Key + R) &gt; General tab &gt; Diagnostic startup &gt; Apply &gt; OK.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To individually figure out and disable apps, type \u201cstartup\u201d in the Start Screen &gt; Search; and click \u201cSee which processes start up automatically when you start Windows\u201d from Search Results.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Safe Boot<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You may, alternatively, activate the \u201cSafe Boot\u201d feature that loads your computer into what was earlier known as \u201cSafe Mode\u201d. To do so, check the box named \u201cSafe boot\u201d in the Boot tab of the same <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MSCONFIG <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tool.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019re logged in with limited functionalities, you shouldn\u2019t encounter the error. Now you can safely rollback the changes you\u2019ve made.<\/p>\n<h4><b>Troubleshoot Compatibility Issues<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Software compatibility is the ability of the Operating System and the Application Software to work together in harmony to ensure a seamless operation without encountering any runtime errors. It goes well as long as same data formats are used and no unsupported features are enabled. The easiest way to prevent compatibility issues is to use the Compatibility Troubleshooter feature. You may, however, manually change the way your program works.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Right click on the Desktop shortcut of the app that is encountering the incompatibility error.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Choose Troubleshoot compatibility.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It should automatically start detecting issues with the concerning app. Wait for the diagnosis to be completed and the results to be displayed..<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Now you have two options, namely \u201cTry recommended settings\u201d and \u201cTroubleshoot program\u201d. Choose the former one first. If it doesn\u2019t fix your problem, load the wizard again and now you can try out the latter method.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To manually change compatibility settings, follow these guidelines:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Right click on the Desktop shortcut of the app that is encountering the incompatibility error.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Under the Compatibility tab you will notice several options.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Choose to run your program in \u201cWindows Vista\u201d OS Mode, and then configure other settings relating to the color mode, screen resolution, display scaling and administrative privileges.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><b>Hardware Issues<\/b><\/h3>\n<h4><b>Memory Diagnostic<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your Random Access Memory (RAM) may have developed a critical fault that might require replacing it with a new one. However, before we come to any conclusion let us first scan the memory using Windows Memory Diagnostic tool prior to the boot interval.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Press Windows Key + X; choose Search.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Type \u201cmemory\u201d in Search box; open \u201cWindows Memory Diagnostic\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Click on the \u201cRestart now and check for problems\u201d button to initiate scan at the next boot interval followed by an immediate reboot.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><b>Hard Disk Issues<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This tool will enable you to monitor SMART attributes of your HDD if you suspect the error is caused due to bad sectors. There are two ways to do so \u2013 either use command-lines through Command Prompt or use the Graphical Interface.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Command-line Instructions<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To check integrity of your drive, use:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">chkdsk &lt;drive letter&gt;:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Example<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">chkdsk E:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To scan and fix disk read\/ write issues, use:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">chkdsk \/f &lt;drive letter&gt;:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Example:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">chkdsk \/f E:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><b>Using Graphical Interface<\/b><\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Open File Explorer in your Windows 10 laptop; or Windows Explorer in case of Windows 8.1\/ 8\/ 7\/ Vista.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> On the left-hand side panel you will see a list of all drives. Right click your system drive, for example, drive C: and choose Properties.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Initiate the process from Tools tab &gt; Checkup &gt; Scan Drive.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A host of computer errors can often create hindrances for you and lead upto a depressing situation.
