Auslogics Duplicate File Finder

Auslogics Duplicate File Finder is designed to scan the user’s computer for duplicate files and display the results while keeping the interface not cluttered and making it easy for the user. This helps the user stay focused on the job of removing the duplicates. This software is currently available only for systems that have Windows installed.

User Interface

This software offers an interface that is both easy and intuitive to work with. As soon as you launch the application, you will notice it’s neatly laid out user interface. The most obvious options are selecting the target scan location(s) and the file types to be looked for.

The Options & Settings menu provides more advanced customization such as populating the Ignore List, setting up the Rescue Centre, and choosing from one of the 7 supported languages.

After you are done with adjusting the settings, the app will take you to the next step where you get to set a limit on the minimum and maximum size of any files you want to be ignored in the scan.

ADFF, before running a scan on your computer will provide three options in terms of what needs to be done about duplicate files. You can either move them to the Recycle bin, delete them permanently or select the Rescue Center option if you want to archive the files and recover them later.

Scan Results

Within a few seconds, Auslogics Duplicate Finder will be done with scanning your computer and present a list of duplicate files as shown in the image above. Select your files and choose to delete them or rescue them. You can move them to the Recycle bin as well.

Clone Files Checker

Clone Files Checker is another great alternative for scanning duplicate files on your computer and getting rid of them. It runs a comprehensive scan, allowing you to scan not only your computer for duplicate files but also your OneDrive, Google Drive and Dropbox accounts via the Cloud Scan tab.

User Interface

The user-friendly interface of Clone Files Checker allows the user to get going very soon. The only job required is to select the scan location, the file type(s) for the scan and setting a file size filter (optional).

To initiate the scan, click Add and now add up all the locations you want to scan. Next, choose the file types for the scan. If you want a custom scan, simply choose Custom and now select the file categories you want to scan. This helps keep the scan more focused and also saves time.

Clones Files Checker offers three scan modes:

    • File Search
    • Music Search
  • iTunes Search

The Music Search mode scans music files for duplicates with the help of metadata, and the iTunes Search is for scanning duplicates in the iTunes Music. If any duplicates are detected in iTunes, CFC also provides a neat feature to delete Dead tracks.

View & Select Duplicates

Clones Files Checker will take a very short while to complete the job and display the results very soon.

When you get the scan results, you can click Fix Wizard to breeze through the process of selecting the duplicates and deleting the rest. If you want a more detailed view of the duplicates that have been detected, click Review & Fix.

Clicking Select Duplicates will give you several options such as shown in the image above. You can retain files based on the date of their creation, modifications made and folder location.

Finally, click Select Action and choose if you want to permanently delete the duplicates or move them to a folder.

You can even click on Export Results to save the scan results in the CSV format.
