How Can You Delete Retweets Easily?

There are plenty of reasons why people might want to clean-up their old retweets and tweets. If you’re a college graduate and looking for a new job, you might want to erase the trace of your old, embarrassing tweets and retweets from your new employer. If you’re a Twitter addict, you might have posted a lot of personal information earlier that you may want to delete to protect your privacy and confidentiality. There are so many other reasons, and legitimate ones. Unfortunately, Twitter doesn’t have an in-house functionality to automatically erase older tweets/ retweets for you.

If you’ve only a handful of tweets/ retweets, it is possible to manually locate and delete them one by one. You can employ Twitter’s powerful Search functionality to automatically find right tweets for you using different patterns. If you’ve several thousand tweets/ retweets, it is nearly impossible to delete them one by one. Easy Tweet Deleter is the most safest and spam-free approach to accomplish this task. Read on…

1. Use Different Search Queries To Manually Find & Delete Older Tweets/ Retweets

Twitter allows you to load specific tweets based on various search criteria- such as tweets containing a specific keyword, tweets posted in a time duration, tweets replying and mentioning an individual, tweets published in a specific language. Moreover, you can search for your retweets (RTs) by a keyword/ text.

How To Use Twitter Search?

1. Open your Twitter Profile from your computer.

2. Locate the Search box on the upper right corner.

3. Type your search query.

I. Search For Your Retweets (RTs) By Keyword

Use the following syntax to search your Twitter timeline for only retweets containing a word/ letter.

from:<your account id> filter:nativeretweets [<search text>]

The following example will search for all retweets (RTs) containing the word crocodile.

from:wecatlovers filter:nativeretweets [crocodile]

II. Search Your Tweets By Keyword

You can use the following syntax to search for specific tweets by a keyword or specific text pattern.

<search text> from:<your account id>

To load all of your tweets that contain a specific keyword such as cat, use the following search query. This does NOT load any Retweets (RTs).

cat from:wecatlovers

This will load up all relevant results and allow you to manually delete the tweets.

II. Search Tweets By Time Duration

You can employ Twitter Search to find tweets that you posted in a specific time period.

Syntax:

from:<your account id> since:<beginning date yyyy-mm-dd> until:<end date yyyy-mm-dd>

In the following example, we’ll search for tweets starting from 1st January, 2019 until 30th January, 2019.

from:wecatlovers since:2019-01-01 until:2019-01-30

III. Search Your Replies To An Individual

If you need to delete your replies sent to a specific individual on Twitter, use the following search filter:

to:<other account name> from:<your account id>

Example: In this example, we’ll search for only those replies you sent to an account named RealGrumpyCat.

to:RealGrumpyCat from:wecatlovers

IV. Search Your Tweets Mentioning/ Tagging An Individual

If you’ve tagged other individuals on Twitter, you can search for such tweets using the following search query:

(<other account>) from:<your account id>

For example:

(simonscat) from:wecatlovers

V. Search Your Tweets By Language

You can search for your tweets published in a specific language. Here’s the syntax:

lang:<your language code> from:<your account id>

In this example, we will load all tweets published in French:

lang:fr from:wecatlovers

Please refer this Twitter documentation.for a brief list of some major world language codes. Please note that this is not a complete list. If your language code is not mentioned, please Google it. For example: portuguese language code
